"Because of you, I can still sit down at a piano and play pieces like Mozart's Concerto in E flat or the beautiful Chopin Waltz we are working on at lessons. While I had the skill, you taught me to understand and feel music in my soul. You told me the story behind the music and we discussed the composer's lives and perceived state of mind when they wrote the pieces I played. Most importantly, you taught me that it was not about being the best or competition....it was about telling the composer's story with my fingers which is why I practiced for hours because I wanted to...no one had to make me because I adopted the responsibility of storyteller and I wanted the music to sing their song in an authentic and deep way. Thank you for being my mentor and showing me the path....thank you for always being my teacher even when I moved on to new instructors. Your lessons shaped my love for music in a profound way."

"When I'm asked why we don't take lessons closer to home, I answer, 'This is a huge commitment in time and money, so I want the best for my kids' "

Hi Margie! I just wanted you to know that I think of you often, and I'm so grateful for what you taught me all those formative years. Things that you said still help me remember how to play musically and with good technique. So many colleagues seem to suffer tendonitis and other injuries. I've never had real problems of that nature, except for a sort of uncomfortable tickle in the hands, rarely; but I can endure long days which include playing a 1.5 hour ballet class and 6 hrs. of rehearsal without any significant fatigue. You're a constant gift to me and your other students; and I would like to think that I turned out like you in some way.
